Craig Bina Appointed Associate Dean for Research & Graduate Studies

The department is pleased to announce that Craig Bina, the W.V. Jones II Professor of Geological Sciences, has been appointed Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies for the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University. In this role, he will work with faculty, departments, the Dean of the College, and the Vice President for Research to develop new research opportunities, external funding, interdisciplinary research projects, and NU research collaborations with Chicago-area institutions (such as Argonne National Laboratory and the Chicago Botanic Garden). He will also work with graduate students, departments, programs, the Dean of the College, and the Dean of the Graduate School on funding, recruitment, and the academic content of graduate programs. Meanwhile, he continues to pursue his own research interests and to teach (a smaller number of) undergraduate classes.
