Now Hiring: Lake Sediment Laboratory Technician
A full-time technician is needed for one year to support research in the new Quaternary Sediment Lab at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. The technician will assist with equipping the new lab, setting up basic instrumentation, and developing laboratory protocols. S/he will also conduct paleoenvironmental analyses on lake sediment cores from Greenland, including collection of geochemical and possibly paleoecological data. Position is within the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and appointment is for one year, preferably beginning in September 2012. Bachelors degree in geology or a related field, and experience working independently in a laboratory, are required; Masters degree and experience working in a paleolimnology or geochemistry laboratory are preferred.
