I am now an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at Northwestern University. My degrees are from the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris (M.S., 1972), and the California Institute of Technology (Ph.D., 1978). After teaching for 32 years at Northwestern, I remain active in research and keep advising continuing graduate students in Seismology and other aspects of Geophysics.
