Curriculum Vitae

I research the behavior (i.e. physical properties) of mantle minerals in order to better understand their roles in geochemical cycling and geophysical processes. One of the ways I go about this is to study mantle minerals brought up as inclusions in diamonds. These inclusions offer a unique glimpse into the Earth’s interior. Extracting information from inclusions using non-destructive (nonextractive) techniques can provide valuable details which can shed light on diamond formation processes.  I also study nominally anhydrous minerals such as olivine found in meteorites in hopes of better understanding the origin of Earth’s water.
