Archaeology Image: Cromlech (England)

Stonehenge, Salisbury Plain, near Amesbury, England. Construction of this cromlech, or stone circle, extended from the early bronze age through later centuries. These trilithons of ``sarsen'' granite comprise the inner portion of the circle, with a ring of smaller ``bluestones'' surrounding it.
