Etang de Montady, near Oppidum d'Ensérune, France.
The wedge-shaped fields surrounding a circular center field demark the former
bed of Lake Montady.
The lake was drained in 1209 A.D., using a network of canals and tunnels, by a
cooperative of local landowners.
The same cooperative continues to maintain the drainage works to this day.
