GEOL C02 Field Trip: Republic iron mine (Negaunee Iron Formation)

Republic iron mine within the Upper Jaspilite Unit of the Negaunee Iron Formation. This unit ranges in thickness from 300 to 500 feet. The mesh-covered vertical wall is formed by the upper contact of a metadiabase sill.
